Buyer's Guide
In recent years, horse buyers have become more wary of sellers, and rightfully so, with so many scams and misrepresentations ruining the experience for honest sellers and genuine buyers. We are passionate about helping you find the right horse - even if it's not one of ours! Below you will find information on how we handle our horse sales, and some considerations to keep in mind any time you find yourself in the market.

STARTING YOUR SEARCH:
Take a look at our 'Available Horses' page to see what horses we currently have available. Rising Son Ranch sells a very limited number of horses each year to ensure each horse is reflective of our standards. If you do not see what you are looking for on our page, please reach out to see if we might have something coming available soon. Many of our horses sell before ever making it to the website!
At this stage, ask any questions you have! We are always happy to take your call.
HORSE SHOWINGS:
When you are ready to come meet one of our sale horses, we aim to show you a day in their normal life to give you the most inclusive opportunity to evaluate their suitability as your next equine partner. We anticipate spending around two hours getting to know you and familiarizing you with the horse, but you can stay as long as you like!
We will wait for your arrival to bring the horse in from the field. This allows you to see if they are easy to catch, their personality in the herd, and shows you that the horse has not been prepped or worn out prior to your arrival.
The horse will be brought into the arena, groomed, and tacked up. This is a good opportunity to observe the horse's personality and ask any questions you might have.
Next, our head trainer will ride the horse while you watch. This allows you to see that the horse is safe, and allows us to demonstrate that the horse does the things we've said it does. During this time, our trainer will discuss different aspects of how this horse rides and performs best for its rider.
Following this, you will be given the opportunity to ride the horse. Our trainer will standby to observe and offer tips if needed to assist you in connecting with this horse.
Finally, if you are looking at one of our trail horses and enjoy your initial meeting with the horse, we will gladly schedule a day to take you trail riding in one of the nearby state parks. We want you to buy with confidence and we are more than happy to put our money where our mouth is!
